Radiesse® creates a reduction of facial wrinkles and folds that lasts an average of one year. It can restore volume in the cheeks and other areas that tend to deflate with time. The product is effective against many wrinkles and is FDA approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Radiesse can help both men and women who suffer from wrinkles, lines, midfacial volume loss and nasolabial folds regain a more youthful appearance. The product can also benefit those who are tired of having to return for frequent touch-up treatments and are ready to invest in a filler that will last longer.
HOW DO I KNOW WHICH FILLER IS RIGHT FOR ME?
There are many fillers on the market. In fact it seems like more options open up every month! It is not necessary for you to determine what filler you need before scheduling your consultation. You just need to be able to verbalize what your concerns are. Let the experts advise you about the various filler options for each area of the face.
WHAT MAKES RADIESSE SPECIAL?
Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that act as a platform on which collagen can grow. More collagen means fewer wrinkles and healthier, younger-looking skin. Patients and surgeons alike appreciate Radiesse because it is biocompatible and durable.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?
Your procedure with Dr. Del Corral will only require about 30 minutes of your time and will be conducted in an office setting. Typically, Radiesse is mixed with lidocaine prior to injection, to minimize any associated discomfort. Ice packs may also be used, both before and after the injection in order to reduce swelling and pain. Topical local anesthetic cream may also be administered depending on your needs. Dr. Del Corral will then inject Radiesse with a fine needle and massage the area to ensure a smooth surface.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS?
You will see the results of the procedure immediately. Most patients return after about 12 to 18 months for repeat treatments in order to maintain the desired outcome.
It is fairly common for patients to experience swelling, bruising and redness following treatment. Keep your head elevated and use ice as needed. Few other side effects are reported, but keep watch for itching, tenderness at the injection sites, discoloration, mild irritation and edema. If your symptoms worsen or last longer than two days or so, please call your doctor.
